Questions to ask any program
- Are you licensed and accredited (e.g., Joint Commission or CARF)?
- What levels of care do you offer — detox, residential, PHP, IOP, OP?
- Do you treat co-occurring mental health conditions (dual diagnosis)?
- What does a typical day look like?
- What is your staff-to-client ratio and clinical credentials?
- Do you offer medication-assisted treatment when appropriate?
- How do you involve family?
- What does aftercare and alumni support look like?
- Will you verify my insurance and explain costs up front?
- What's your approach or philosophy of care?
- How do you handle relapse?
- Can I speak with someone who's been through your program?
