What Is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?

An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) delivers meaningful clinical care while giving you room to return to work, school, and family. It's a key step in the recovery continuum.

What IOP involves

IOP usually runs three to five days a week, a few hours per session, often with morning or evening options. Sessions focus on group therapy, relapse prevention, individual counseling, and practicing new skills in real life.

Who it's for

IOP fits people stepping down from PHP or residential, and those whose situation is stable enough that they don't need full-day care. It's a bridge between intensive treatment and independent living.

The real-world advantage

Because you're living your life while in treatment, you get to test new coping skills against real triggers — with your clinical team there to help you process what comes up. That's powerful for lasting change.

Finding your fit

We'll assess where you are and recommend the right intensity. Call us to talk it through.
